In my Parks and Recreation career, I managed a key capital project: reconstructing a log shelter built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) at Sandy Beach Park. I secured $60,000 in funding for the through a $60,000 US Forest Service RAC (Resource Advisory Committee) grant.

I’ve linked the how-to of the bridge we built a few hundred feet away, which is mentioned in the KFSK news story. This project received $10,000 in RAC grant funding through the Forest Service. A local carpenter and designer, with support from my department and a group of scouts working on an Eagle project completed the bridge. As a result of these partnerships we were able to create a unique feature.
